girl on the beach These plans are designed to provide income in the event of sickness. This can either enhance sickness provision available through your employer or provide income if a sickness package is not available to you.

These plans are tailored to match existing provision so there may be a period for which no benefit will be paid, (known as the deferment period), e.g. if you have sickness protection from your employer for the first six months then you would select a 6 month deferment period on your plan. These deferment periods can be from 1 month to 24 months. Generally the longer the deferment period the lower the premium is likely to be. Benefit is payable from the end of your deferment period until you get back to work or when your plan term ends (normally retirement) or you die.

These plans are occupation specific so it is important you take independent advice to ensure you have the most suitable plan.
